Welcome

...to my Treehouse, where I do a bit of sharing goodies with my readers, and a lot of showing off of my CT tags. It's my little nest in the busy world of psp.

Squirrely has been my nickname since I was a child, both because it rhymes with my real name, and because I'm forgetful and just plain nuts at times. I've been tagging for 2+ decades off and on, and now that I'm retired/disabled I'm pretty much on most of the time now.

I love to share what I make with you, and I LOVE it when you respond with love back for the shares. So have a look around, take what you like and enjoy yourself. Just watch for splinters.

Golden Gothic Angel - a ptu tut

Tube - I've used a gorgeous tube by The Hunter, "Goldie"
Scrap Kit - I've used an unique goth-like love themed kit by Designs by Joan that matches this tube, also called "Goldie"
>>>>>>>Both the tube AND the scrapkit are on sale at this writing for $1>>>>>>
Mask - WSL_Mask119 and WSL_Mask191 which can be downloaded HERE.
Filters - Eye Candy 3.1 Drop Shadow
Font -  Roskrift Clean

-------------------------------------------------
Tutorial abbreviations:
s/sa/fl/defl/ = Selections/Select All/Float/Defloat
c/p = copy & paste
d/s = drop shadow
f/f = flood fill
-------------------------------------------------
Unless otherwise directed, add an EyeCandy drop shadow of distance 6, blur 6, opacity 28 with color #000000.

1. Open a new image 700 x 700 and f/f with white and then add a new raster layer (we can crop and r/s at the end). Make a linear gradient using two colors from your tube (I used #dbbd75 and #eedead) and set at a 135 degree angle and 3 repeats, and then f/f your raster layer. Find WSL_Mask119 and apply, merge group, duplicate and mirror, merge down.  Add a new layer and select all.  Open paper4 and c/p into selection. Apply WSL_Mask191 to this layer and merge group, add a d/s to this mask.

2. Open Goldie28, r/s 80% and c/p as a new layer. Tap inside of it with your magic wand to select, modify and expand by 5.  Using the same linear gradient but with 5 repeats, f/f inside the frame.  Leave selected and c/p your close up tube as a new layer centering it into the frame, invert and tap delete, select none.  Change the blend mode of your tube to hard light, duplicate and add a Gaussian Blur of 5 to this layer and change the blend mode to soft light.  Hide your white bg layer and merge visible.

3. Now let's decorate the frame area:
:::Open Goldie22 and r/s 85%. C/p as a new layer moving it to the far left and below the frame layer.
:::Open Goldie42 and r/s 70%, c/p and move to the far right.
:::Open Goldie23 and r/s 40%. C/p to your tag and place at the very top of the castle. Add a d/s of 10, 10, 21.
:::Open Goldie32 c/p as a new layer under the castle layer, move to the far right so the stars appear around the castle.  Add a d/s of 3, 3, 35.
:::Open Goldie16, r/s 60% and c/p to your tag and mirror. Move to the right side in front of the castle.
:::Open Goldie5 and r/s 50%. C/p and drop it behind your candles.
:::Open Goldie21 and r/s 50%. C/p to your tag and drop the right side ball behind the skull
:::Open Goldie35 and r/s 90%.  Highlight your frame layer and c/p this on top of that placing the center of the web right over her eye.  Change the blend mode to luminance legacy and lower the opacity to 50, no d/s on this layer.
:::Open Goldie68 and r/s 70%. C/p to your tag above the frame in the center.  Be sure no clock face covers any vital part of the face in the frame, such as an eye.  Add a d/s of 7, 7, 25 to this layer.

4. Now open your main tube and r/s as needed.  C/p as a new layer moving her to the right a bit so her body covers the left edge of the castle. Add a d/s of 10, 10, 26 to your tube. Now we'll decorate some more:
:::Open Goldie69 and r/s 90%, c/p as a new layer.
:::Open Goldie70 and c/p as a new layer moving to the bottom, then duplicate and flip.
:::Open Goldie90 and c/p in front of the clock
:::Open Goldie20 & Goldie 30, r/s'ing both 50%. C/p as a new layers along the bottom of the frame.
:::Open Goldie43 and r/s 60%. Highlight the castle layer and c/p these trees just above it.  Move it to the bottom of your tag and a bit to the right.
:::Open Goldie36 and r/s 60%, then mirror. C/p to your tag just above the heart mask layer and move to the far left behind the clock face.
:::Open Goldie56 and r/s 50%. C/p as a new layer to the top of the layer palette and move to the bottom and then left a bit.

5. Crop and/or r/s as needed, add your artist's copyright information and your name, and you're done!

New Year's Swagger

Tube - I've used Spazz' ridiculously cute tube "Ace", who happens to look just like my dog.  You can purchase Ace HERE, please don't use without a license.
Scrap Kit - New Years Delight by Kissing Kate which can also be found in Spazz Store HERE
>>>Spazz store is having a CRAZY sale at this writing, so you can pick these up for song<<<

Template - Kristin Toxic Desires Template 265 (Oct 25, 2014 post)
Mask - Vix-MondayMask1 - put into your masks folder.
Filters - Eye Candy 3.1 Glow, Perspective and Drop Shadows
Font - Everything Holiday

-------------------------------------------------
Tutorial abbreviations:
s/sa/fl/defl/ = Selections/Select All/Float/Defloat
c/p = copy & paste
d/s = drop shadow
f/f = flood fill
-------------------------------------------------
Unless otherwise directed, add an EyeCandy drop shadow of
distance 3, blur 6, opacity 32 with color #000000.

1. Open up Kristin's template and duplicate, then close the original. R/s the template to 700 wide, then change the canvas size to 700 x 700 so we have room to work.  You can crop and r/s it again later.  Delete the credits layer and add a white background layer at the bottom of your layer palette. Add a new layer and f/f with a color from your tube (I used #484641). Under Layers find Vix-MondayMask1 and apply, merge group, duplicate and mirror.

2. Highlight raster 2 in your layers palette, s/sa/fl/defl. Open paper 4 and r/s 50%, c/p as a new layer and move it over the marching ants area, invert, delete and select none.  Duplicate, mirror and flip and move this layer above the copy of raster 2 layer.  Merge down and delete original layers.
::::Highlight raster 10 and repeat this step again using paper 3 this time.
::::Highlight raster 3 and repeat this step again using paper 8.

3. Highlight raster 8, s/sa/fl/defl. Open paper 6 and r/s 75%. C/p as a new layer, invert and tap delete.  Select none.

4. Open paper 2 and r/s 50%. Right click on this layer in your layer palette and click promote background layer.  Move back to your paper and free rotate it 14 to the right.  C/p this paper and move it over the copy of raster 7 layer. On the copy layer, s/sa/fl/defl and invert, tap delete. Duplicate the paper and move it up manually over the raster 7 layer.

5. Open element7 and r/s it 50% and then 25%. C/p it as a new layer and cover up raster 9 with it. Duplicate it and move this one down to cover up the copy of raster 9.

6. Highlight raster 5 and s/sa/fl/defl, add a new layer. Open element 39 and c/p this into the selection, select none.  Adjust, sharpnes and unsharp mask with the following settings:

7. Open your tube now and if using the same as me, choose Ace with the hat.  R/s as needed and c/p as a new layer at the top of your layer palette.  Use your target brush with color #5dc3ba, and run it over Ace's hat to make it match the blue in the kit a bit better. Add a perspective shadow to Ace with these settings:

8. Open element 5 and r/s 60% twice. C/p as a new layer above Ace's layer and position it so that it sits on his mouth.  Grab your freeform selections tool set to point to point with a feather of 6, and trace around the tip of element 5 and across the black part of Ace's mouth

Once selected, highlight Ace and promote the selection to layer, deselect.  Move the promoted selection above the element 5 layer, and it looks as if Ace is holding it in his mouth.

9.  Now let's place some elements and let this pup par-tay!...
:::Open element 15 and c/p above raster 4 and move it up a bit with your mover tool.
:::Open element 13 and r/s 66%,  Move it to the right, duplicate, mirror. No d/s
:::Open elem 8, r/s 60%. C/p as a new layer and move to the far right and down a bit, duplicate and mirror, merge down.  Add a heavier d/s to this layer of 7, 7, 50.
:::Open element 21 and c/p as a new layer.  Repeat the heavy d/s.
:::Open element 26 and r/s 50% twice. C/p as a new layer and move it down in your palette to just above the tilted paper layer.
:::Open elements 38 and 44 and c/p as a new layer, moving them down in your layer palette to just above the white bg layer. No d/s on these layers.
:::Open element 65 and r/s 50% and then 25%. C/p as a new layer tucking it under the disco ball on the right side. Use your pick tool to tilt it a bit.
:::Open elements 17 & 18, r/s each 50% and c/p around the tag.  Add a d/s of 10, 10, 50 to each
:::Open element 20 and r/s 75%. C/p as a new layer at the top of your layer palette.  Add an Eye Candy glow with these settings:

10. Crop and/or r/s as desired, add your artist's © information and your name, and save as a png file.

And of course I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and SAFE New Year!!

Unless otherwise directed, add an EyeCandy dropshadow of distance 5, blur 10,
opacity 30 with color #000000.

1. Open a new image 800 x 800 and f/f with white, we can crop and r/s later.  Open elem79 and c/p as a new layer and move to the bottom. Duplicate and spread them apart moving the left sided one down a bit.  Open elem27 and c/p as a new layer, moving it to the center of the left snowflake.

2. Open elem45 and r/s 60%, c/p as a new layer. Tap inside the frame with your magic wand and expand by 5.  Open paper6 and r/s 50%, c/p as a new layer below the frame in your layers palette, selections invert and tap delete on your keyboard.  Leave selected.  Open your close up tube and c/p as a new layer moving the face is in the frame, tap delete and select none. On your close up, change the blend mode to luminance and add Xero Porcelain with the following settings:

Duplicate the close up and change this blend mode to screen.  Open elem16 and r/s 60%, c/p and place on top of the pink frame. Use your eraser tool set to round to erase some of the pearls so this frame can appear to be intertwined with the other, add your d/s. Open elem100 and r/s 40%. C/p as a new layer and move to the top left side of the frame. Merge all of these pieces to the frame together.

3. Open elem57 and r/s 75%, mirror. Drop below the frame layer and move it to the left.  Open elem61 and r/s 75%, mirror. Move it to the left a bit of the white tree.  Open elem22 and r/s 40%, c/p as a new layer at the top of your layer palette and duplicate.  Move one set to the left top so the end of the strand starts at the top of the white tree. Move the duplicate strand down in your layer palette to just above the green tree.  Now duplicate each strand once again, and on the original strands add your d/s, this way the lights don't lose their glow. Merge each dup and original together.

4. Highlight the pearl layer in your palette.  Open elem66 and r/s 65%, c/p as a new layer and place it in front of merged frame.

5. Open elem42, duplicate and close original, r/s 80% - we're going to make this part separately from the tag.  Tap in the center with your magic wand and expand by 10, add a new layer and drop this layer below the frame.  Open paper7 and c/p into the selection, select none.  On the frame layer add a d/s of 3, 6, 40 and then enhance it.  Merge visiible.  Now c/p this scene onto your tag just above the "floor" snowflakes.  Move it to the top far left, duplicate and move this one to the far right bottom of your tag. Open elem76 and r/s 80%. C/p these above the right frame layer in your palette and move a bit to the right so they sit on the top of the right frame.

6. Open elem96 and c/p as a new layer top of layer palette.  Move this down to the bottom left of your tag, duplicate, mirror and flip.  Open your main tube now and c/p as a new layer to the right of the close-up. Duplicate and add a Gaussian Blur of 5, change the blend mode to soft light. Add your d/s to the original tube layer and do it again in the opposite direction. Open elem46  and r/s 50%. C/p it as a new layer under the tube layer and move the bunny to the far right bottom corner of the frame. Open elem53 and r/s 50%. C/p as a new layer just above your tube layer, moving it to the left forefront of the tag.  Open elem41 and r/s 15%, c/p as a new layer and put on the neck of the deer. Use your mover tool to tilt it to the left a bit.

7. R/s your tag now to your preferred size, add your artist's copyright and your name, and your done with your beautiful new winter tag.

Mask - WSL_Mask145 which you can d/l at Wee Scottish Lass's blog HERE
Filters - Eye Candy 3.1 Drop Shadow and Photo Effex (in supply zip)
Font -  Champagne and Limousines & Euphoria Script
Supply Zip -  contains Photo Effex filter & money. Place the filter wherever you put any of your psp filters. Download HERE

-------------------------------------------------
Tutorial abbreviations:
s/sa/fl/defl/ = Selections/Select All/Float/Defloat
c/p = copy & paste
d/s = drop shadow
f/f = flood fill
-------------------------------------------------
Unless otherwise directed, I've used an EyeCandy drop shadow of distance 6, blur 10,
opacity 30 with color #000000 throughout.

1. Open a new image 700 x 700 and f/f with white, you can r/s later.  Add a new layer and select all, open paper 13 and c/p into the selection.  Apply the WSL_Mask145 and merge group.  Using a small font - I used Champagne and Limousines size 14 - type out "Shop till you drop" in color #d7d3b8 until the entire large rectangle is covered. Convert text to raster.

2. Open elem117 and r/s 80%, mirror and c/p as new layer moving it a bit towards the right.  Open your sitting tube and r/s to 590 in height.  C/p it to your tag and move so it's sitting on the couch.  To give the couch the indents where her bum is placed, use your preset shape tool set to ellipse and draw out 2 little ovals under her bum about 20 x 10 pixels in size.  Convert to raster layer and add a starting Gaussian Blur of  3 to each. Keep blurring, resizing and moving them around until you have a natural looking indent.  Change the blend mode to luminance legacy. Give your tube a d/s of 8, 10, 30.

3. Open elem 108, c/p as a new layer below the couch layer in your layers palette. Open elem 104 and c/p on top of elem 108. Open paper12 and resize to 600 x 600, c/p as a new layer and drop below elem108.  Tap the inside of elem 108 with your magic wand, expand by 10 and invert, highlight the paper layer again and tap delete, invert & leave selected.  Go to Hue and Saturation and change the color of the paper to Hue 37 & Saturation of 41. Grab your close-up tube and c/p as a new layer positioning the face in the selected area, invert and tap delete. Select none.  Change the blend mode of your tube to overlay. Highlight the paper layer once again, and use Photo Effex Scanlines with the
following settings:

4. Open elem 1 (purse), r/s 40%, c/p as a new layer and drop to the bottom right of the couch so it's sitting on "the floor". Grab your pick tool and hold down the CTRL key as you squeeze together the right side nodes like so:

Once satisfied with it, open the money that I included in the supplies and c/p as a new layer just below the purse.  Using your freeform selections tool to promote some of the money to a new layer and bring that promoted layer above the purse so it hangs out of it.  Select none.

5. Place presents around her feet and on the side of the couch.  I've used elem 23, 36, 47 and r/s each 40%.  C/p to left and under her foot.  Open elem 30 and r/s 20%, c/p it to the right of the larger gifts near her purse.

6. Open paper11 and r/s 75%. C/p as a new layer just above your mask layer in your layers palette.  Reshape it like we did in step 4; with your pick tool grab the top middle node and pull that down to just below the mask layer, then pull the top nodes in to be even with the mask and the bottom nodes pull out a to almost the edges of your tag.  Grab your freeform selections tool to round off the front of the 'rug'.

7. Now we'll decorate the tag...
:::elem 96, r/s 35% and c/p as a new layer below the purse layer in your layers palette, moving it all the way to the left of the couch. Duplicate, mirror, and move this one behind it.
:::elem 11, r/s 40% and c/p as a new layer placing it on top of the large gift box. Use your freeform selections tool to trace around the bow of the gift box, then promote it to layer and select none.  Move the promoted bow section above the martini glass.
:::elem21, c/p as a new layer and move to the bottom so they're sprinkled around the gifts.

6. R/s your tag as desired, add your artist's copyright and your name (I used Euphoria Script), and enjoy your new Christmas tag - now get to shopping! :)

Unless otherwise directed, add an EyeCandy drop shadow of distance 3, blur 6, opacity 28 with color #000000.

1. Open a new image 750 x 750 and f/f with white, you can crop and r/s later if desired.  Add a new layer and select all. Open paper1 and paste into selection, select none.  Apply mask 103 to this layer and merge group.  Grab your pick tool and pull out each node to each corner of your tag.

2.  Open elem 59 (blue frame), r/s 90% and c/p as a new layer. Open your main tube and r/s it as needed (if using the same tube r/s 60%), then c/p as a new layer positioning a little down and to the right of the frame.  Now open your closeup tube and c/p it under the frame layer in your layers palette.  Use your free form selections tool to trace around the openings of the frame, invert and delete to take away the excess tube. Select none.

3. Highlight the frame layer in your palette and open elem5, r/s 25%.  C/p onto your tag positioning it on the bottom left of frame.  Duplicate and mirror, move this one up a bit (reference my tag).  Open elem4, r/s 85% and c/p it to the right side once again and drop this below the grass/snow layer in your palette. Open elem 34, r/s 50% and c/p as a new layer moving it in front of the white tree.  Now open elem33 and r/s 50%.  C/p and move these over to the right and drop below the white tree so they're tucked behind it

4. Again highlight the frame layer.  Open elem 32 and r/s 50%. C/p as a new layer and encircle the frame openings with it, no d/s.  Open elem 129 and r/s 60%, then c/p as a new layer.  Move it to the top of the frame and use your pick tool to tilt it slightly to the left, sharpen.  Open elem24 and r/s 50, then c/p as a new layer.  Move it also to the top of the frame and drop it below the pendent layer in your palette.  To have these elements appear to be wrapped around each other, still on the ribbon layer, s/sa/fl/defl and then highlight the pendent layer again.  Use your eraser tool and erase a few areas of the pendant inside of the selected areas, the marching ants will stop you from erasing too much.  Once done, select none and add a d/s of 8, 8, 28 to each of these layers.

5. And let's place a few more elements to decorate it up a bit -
::Open elem3 and r/s 25%.  C/p it just below the tree layer in your palette and move it all the way to the left.
::Open elem37, c/p as a new layer and move it below your main tube in your palette and just slightly up enough to see both hearts, no d/s.
::Highlight the white background layer and open elem72, c/p as a new layer moving it down so it peek out from the bottom.
::Open elem31 and r/s 50%.  C/p as a new layer to the top of your layer palette. Move it enough so none of it covers the faces of either tubes.

6. R/s your tag as desired, add your artist's copyright and your name, and enjoy your new winter tag!!
